Milton Keynes Continuous Housing Market Assessment

Milton Keynes Council logo English Partnerships logo A unique project sponsored by English Partnerships to actively monitor the constantly evolving Milton Keynes housing market. The study follows on from a successful Housing Requirements Study conducted in 1999 (updated in 2002) which withstood detailed scrutiny at the Milton Keynes Local Plan Inquiry in 2003.

The analysis is primarily based on the analysis of interviews conducted with households across the borough, with a rolling programme of personal interviews with local households programmed across the study period. 2,400 personal interviews were successfully completed in early 2006 as a base sample for the study, with a further 800 personal interviews are being conducted each subsequent year in order to accurately monitor annual changes in the housing market.

Results are presented interactively to the client through a secure extranet web portal, allowing assumptions to be varied to test the likely impact of future market change in terms of the mix of housing that will be required.
