Visiting ORS by Road

The ORS office is situated in Swansea city centre between The Strand and Wind Street, as shown on this location map. The following directions provide details about how to get to the office.

From Cardiff and the East

Leave the M4 at Junction 42, then merge onto the A483 signposted Swansea. Follow the A483 (Fabian Way) for approximately 4.5 miles, continuing straight on through three signal controlled junctions - passing Amazon on your right after the first junction, Fabian Way Park and Ride on your right at the second junction, and the Village Hotel on the left hand side just before the third junction.

As you approach the fourth signal controlled junction (just before the River Tawe) move into the right-hand lane and cross the river. Turn right and then immediately turn left, towards Parc Tawe retail parks. Continue straight on through each set of traffic signals until you have passed Homebase on your right, then at the next traffic signals turn left into The Strand. When you reach a yellow box junction, the road will curve around to the right. Do not follow the road, but bear left to continue straight on along The Strand. After passing the BT tower, you will reach a large surface car park on your left hand side. The ORS office is directly opposite the car park entrance.

From Carmarthenshire and the West

Leave the M4 at Junction 47, then at the roundabout take the fourth exit onto the A483 signposted Swansea. Follow the A483 (Swansea Road, which subsequently becomes Pontarddulais Road, Carmarthen Road and then High Street) for approximately 4.8 miles, continuing straight on at all roundabouts and at a number of signal controlled junctions.

After you have passed Swansea Central railway station, the road will curve around to the right. Do not follow the road, but bear left to continue straight on along High Street (with the Grand Hotel on your left and Alexandra House on your right). At the next signal controlled junction (which has an Argos store on the corner) turn left and continue down the hill until you reach a yellow box junction, where you should turn right into The Strand. Continue along The Strand and after passing the BT tower, you will reach a large surface car park on your left hand side. The ORS office is directly opposite the car park entrance.

Visiting ORS by Rail and on Foot

Swansea is serviced by regular InterCity rail services. First Great Western operate half-hourly services from London Paddington, providing connections from Bristol Parkway and Cardiff Central. Arriva Trains Wales operate direct services to Manchester Picadilly, and also services along the West Wales Line towards Carmarthen and along the Heart of Wales Line towards Shrewsbury.

For further details about rail services to Swansea, please contact National Rail Enquiries.

All services terminate at High Street Station, which is approximately 10 minutes on foot from the ORS office. Alternatively, a taxi rank is situated to the right of the station exit.

To reach the ORS office by foot, continue down High Street (with the Grand Hotel on your left and Alexandra House on your right) until you reach a pedestrian crossing. At the crossing continue straight on, passing Swansea Castle on your left and progress down Wind Street.

Approximately 100 metres along Wind Street, you will pass a zebra crossing followed by the offices of Coastal Housing and three large gated arches to your left. If the gates are closed, please use the intercom to the left of the central arch. If the gates are open, continue through the passageway and across the courtyard to the ORS entrance.
